Dear Lord, A fresh new year is now underway. Let us be thankful for the blessings of the past year and to take stock of all our achievements. Keep us aware that New Year 2019 is another opportunity to start afresh, to start strong, to put on a new self, and yet another chance to do seek you in the busy moments of each day. Help us to see your handiwork in, among and around our daily moments and never tire of starting again.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Isaiah 40:28-29
Happy Nurses Week! The Feast of the Ascension is one of the great solemnities in the Christian liturgical calendar. Join us for mass at the Gruenert Center.
Heavenly Father, Creator of all the universe, blessed are you! Look over us with love each and every day of this week and hear our prayers. Grant us peace and understanding and guide us always to your ways and your will O Lord. Let all our daily labors be done in love to glorify you! In your precious name we pray. AMEN
♥ The DPD is so very thankful for the blessing of our volunteers and staff who work tirelessly and with love to be the face of Christ for our people! ♥
This day is full of beauty and adventure; help me Lord to be fully alive to it all. During this day, may I become a more thoughtful person, a more prayerful person, a more generous and kindly person. Help me not to be turned in on myself but to be sensitive and helpful to others. Let me do nothing today that will hurt anyone, but let me help at least a little, to make life more pleasant for those I meet. AMEN
Dear Lord, thank you so much for another day of life on Earth. Thank you for another beautiful sunrise to enjoy. Thank you for the wonderful sounds of nature, from the cool breeze brushing through the trees to the birds singing melodies. You are a wonderful God, full of grace and mercy. I praise you for allowing me another day to spend with those I love and to help those in need. Amen.
"Almsgiving / Giving” means donating money or goods to the poor and performing other acts of charity. It is one of the three pillars of Lenten practice. Almsgiving is "a witness to fraternal charity" and "a work of justice pleasing to God." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 2462).
Through the observance of Lent, O Lord, You purify your Church every year. See to it that your children lead a better life and so obtain the graces they are striving to acquire by doing acts of sacrifice, prayer and penance. This we ask of you through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son. AMEN
God, our Creator, help us to love all creatures as our kin, all animals as our partners on Earth, all birds as messengers of praise, all dogs as signs of loyal friendship, all cats as expressions of your mysterious design and all frogs as voices of hope. Amen.
Lord as I start a new week please help me through and I ask that you stand before me, behind me and to each side of me. Guide me in all my decisions and aid me in making the right choices for myself as well as others that I am responsible for. May this week bring me closer to you in every way! Amen.
New Year's Prayer God, thank you for a New Year. May we be willing to begin anew with a clean slate. We know that you are always ready to forgive us. Help us to be willing to forgive ourselves and to forgive one another. As we begin a new year, remind us of our truest values and our deepest desires. Help us to live in the goodness that comes from doing what you want us to do. Help us to put aside anxiety about the future and the past, so that we might live in peace with you now, one day at a time. AMEN
