Clara has long provided a safe haven for the residents of the Alexander House. Over the course of the last few years there have been several serious health issues, death of beloved residents and challenges that cannot be numbered. Though it all Clara has provided a “home.” She has a firm and guiding manner which clearly sends the message that everything is being handled and there is nothing to worry about. She inspires staff to be the best version of themselves as well as providing a welcoming and appreciative environment for volunteers. She works tirelessly to ensure all meetings, doctors’ appointments, and follow ups are taken care of. Not only will she take care of all of the residents’ needs, but she is also their biggest advocator.
There is no shortage of love in the Alexander House. Even visitors from volunteers to physical therapists and nurses remark on the family atmosphere. The Alexander House benefits from her positivity, kindness and flexibility. St. Faustina said “Pure love … knows that only one thing is needed to please God: to do even the smallest things out of great love – love, and always love.” Clara teaches what it means to lead with the head and the heart. The Alexander House is blessed to have Clara as its director and the DPD is most appreciative of her service to the most
vulnerable among us.
