Being in a supervisory role is both challenging and rewarding. It takes a special person to be able to do it well.
Tania has been the Director of Murray House since May of 2016. She has taken on the position with much enthusiasm and willingness to learn all the many responsibilities of the job. Tania has already implemented a new way to encourage and recognize the daily work of her staff team by using ‘Fish Philosophy.’ This activity highlights staff performance in positive ways and catches them in the acts of “making someone’s day”, “being there for someone”, “choosing a good attitude”, or “taking time to play and enjoy life” and these are recorded and read out loud at staff meetings.
Her years as residential counselor provided a sense of security and safety for the residents as they have taken comfort in the fact that their trusted, hardworking, faithful friend is now their leader and Director. What could have been a difficult transition is instead a gentle change in an otherwise ‘life as usual’ situation for the residents. Tania has taken the role of Director seriously by being a good role model, being a good leader, and keeping a smile on her face despite the many adjustments that go along with her new position. She has a huge and loving heart. We are blessed to have her as the Director of Murray House.
Congratulations on receiving the “Supervisor of the Month Award”
