Parfait is a staff member at Columbus House. Originally from Burkina Faso in West Africa he is on an interesting and courageous journey here in the U.S. He does not have any family in this country but still he embarked on his quest for an education in 2009. Not only was he going to a new country but a new culture and language as well. When he first arrived in the U.S. he only spoke French which is his native language. Since his arrival he has successfully mastered English and he did it well enough to be able to attend college in his newly acquired second language. At the present time he is in his senior year at NJIT where he is studying Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. He plans to continue on to obtain his Master's Degree as well. In addition, Parfait holds a black belt in Taekwondo. He has one brother and 3 sisters who are all living in his home country.
We at DPD are so very happy that he found us and is a part of our mission to serve the most vulnerable among us.
Our congratulations to Parfait on his much deserved award! "August Employee of the Month" Parfait is an important member of the Columbus House team. He is extremely hard working, very dependable and always has a smile on his face. Parfait goes above and beyond to meet the needs of our residents. He is a full-time
student but allows nothing to interfere with his job. As Mother Teresa said, “It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing.” Parfait gives 100% and demonstrates total commitment to the people he serves. “We would be up a creek without a paddle without him” here at Columbus House. We are very happy and blessed to have him as part of the DPD family!
