Megan started out first as a sub at Finnegan House and then at Alexander House as well. Right from the beginning she has been someone to count on and quick to help out in any way necessary. She joined us at Alexander during a time of many changes and difficult situations for some residents because of health issues around every corner. However, she jumped right in with both feet and never stopped.
Megan went out of her way to make Eleanor’s illness more bearable. Not only did she visit Ellie in the hospital and rehab, but she bought her Mom and her dog Miles to visit, too. When Ellie asked for a picture of the dog Megan printed one out and had it framed for her.
Megan always goes the extra mile whether it is to look into possible ideas to help with someone’s anxiety to finding menu ideas to increase everyone’s overall health and well-being. She takes the residents on great day trips and always has a positive and supportive attitude! All of the residents and staff love working with Megan.
Mother Theresa said that, “Prayer in action is love, and love in action is service. Try to give unconditionally whatever a person needs in the moment. The point is to do something, however small, and show you care through your actions.” Megan does just that, her actions show the depth of her love and commitment to those she serves. We are blessed to have her as a part of the DPD family.

Did you know????

Megan was a member of an all female band for seven years. The band was called "Spin" and released a number of records as well. She was often times the lead singer although it wasn't unusal to take turns among all the band members.

Megan's dog Miles is actually a rescue dog, a new experieince for Megan.

She is a graduate of Monmouth College with a degree in Psychology and is presently studying for her Master's degree in counseling and psycology. Next year she will be sitting for her licensing exam in counseling.

Megan first met the DPD when in high school she volunteered at the CARE program at St. Thomas Church in Oak Ridge. Fortunately for the DPD she found her way back here again.
