When asked how she came to be here at the DPD Lourdes was quick to reply, "I was put here by God." Her story is an interesting one. Originally Lourdes envisioned herself working with children and had submitted her resume to the diocese with the thought that maybe the Father English Center was the place for her. Somehow, in a way not clear to anyone, her resume ended up at the DPD and the rest is history.
Lourdes has discovered a real passion for working with our residents much to her surprise since it was a new experience for her. Now she cannot imagine her life without this work. When not at the Fitzpatrick House she is busy with her family and her studies. She has 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren what are "the love of my heart." She loves to read but for now all her free time is spent reading textbooks as she is studying at Passaic Community College for a degree in psychology. She is very excited as she looks toward the future and waits to see what the next step in God's plan for her may be.
