Today’s tip is on how to unlock a goal or objective when it is “locked by subsequent notes”. When you see this message, it means that someone has documented on that day or any day after you are attempting to end the objective. The system does this on purpose to prevent notes from being lost.

In order to fix this, you would view the notes written for the objective (in progress notes) and find any which are dated after the day you wish to end the goal/objective. In the note index, choose the staff who wrote the note, select the note that you need to change, and then change the selection from “service plan linked” to instead be a “general chart note”. Once all post-dated notes are unlinked from the service plan, you will then be able to discontinue the objective.
