In gratitude for being granted a child after years of infertility, Mary's parents, Saints
Joachim and
Anna, had vowed to dedicate Mary to the service of God at the Temple. When they presented her at the Temple at the age of three, she stayed willingly, showing her dedication to God even at that young age.
✙The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe - November 22 This feast on Sunday marks the start of the last week of the Liturgical Year with the tone not of fear or despair, but one of hope and of life to come. With this we move into the
Advent season being given a new beginning for self-examination and renewal, and to prepare for the two-fold coming: 1) remembrance of Christ's first coming as an infant at Christmas and 2) Christ's Second Coming and our Final Judgment.
A Season of Thanks- Don’t miss the opportunity The benefits of practicing gratitude are nearly endless. Research shows that people who regularly practice gratitude by taking time to notice and reflect upon the things they're thankful for experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have stronger immune systems. Reflecting on things for which we’re thankful—can significantly increase well-being and life satisfaction.

The best way to reap the benefits of gratitude is to notice new things you’re grateful for every day. And be sure to stretch yourself beyond the great stuff right in front of you. Opening your eyes to more of the world around you can deeply enhance your gratitude practice. Make a game out of noticing new things each day.
Take the Thankful challenge! –Make a list of 40 things you are thankful for. Why 40? Because in the Bible the number 40 is always tied to events when someone seeking to do the will of God. Once you start you will find that it is easy to come up with 40 or more things. Then take part 2 of the challenge and share it with someone. What a great way to prepare your mind and heart for Thanksgiving.
